The Staffordshire Volunteer Awards are back, and following on from last year’s huge success, this time it’s bigger and better than ever!
You might have recently you nominated someone as a torch bearer for the London 2012 Olympics and if so we would like to invite you to nominate those people for a Volunteer Staffordshire Award. We want to celebrate the valuable contribution that volunteers make to our communities across Staffordshire.
Do you know of a fantastic fundraiser or first -aider? A brilliant volunteer broadcaster or book worm? A shining Scout leader or sports referee, or an outstanding business or organisation that knows how important volunteers are in putting something back into the community? Then nominate now at www.volunteerstaffordshire.org.uk/awards!
Nominations are now being accepted in eight different categories:
• Environmental Volunteer of the Year Award;
• Sporting/cultural volunteer of the Year Award;
• Business Contribution to the Community Award;
• Staffordshire Young Volunteer of the Year Award;
• Lifetime Achievement Award;
• Volunteer of the Year Award ;
• Volunteer Team of the Year Award and
• the Unsung Hero Award – which recognises people that may not formally volunteer for an organisation or cause, but still make a difference.
Everyone shortlisted will be invited the gala celebration and awards evening in March at Alton Towers.
Everyone who places a nomination will be put into a prize draw for free ticket to the evening.
The deadline for entries is Monday, 5 December 2011.
*Please note, you can make as many nominations as you wish and team nominations are accepted in all categories apart from ‘Volunteer of the Year’.
